Cathleen Calica is a creative visionary. As the co-founder, director and curator of 187 Augusta, ‘Cat’ has five years of first hand experience of arts management and community leadership. As an artistic director, Cat has styled and designed sets for award winning artists and musicians as well as commercials for high profile clients like McCain Foods, Addidas Canada and Google. Cat’s work revolves around uplifting BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Colour) and 2SLGBTQ+ artistry and excellence.

Erickson John “EJ” Anupol is a library professional and community worker based in Toronto.

He holds a Masters degree in Library & Information Science from Western University (2018) and is currently enrolled in the Community Engagement and Development certificate program at Ryerson University. He is a second-generation Filipino-Canadian whose migration story includes moving to different areas of Toronto and Mississauga during his childhood. He often thinks about the generational-gap and cross-cultural differences between himself and his parents.

EJ is interested in prototyping projects like The Balikbayan Project because he has a strong background in information management. As a tech-savvy individual, he hopes to expand his career by working with new technologies and using creative resources for community building.

Marie Sotto is a Filipinx futurist, art witch and game changer.

Marie graduated with a degree in International Development studies in 2011 and since then gained ten years of experience in arts leadership, cultural strategy and program development in community arts. 

As an independent artist, Marie has previously exhibited work at Artscape Youngplace, The Gladstone Hotel and The Harbourfront Center.

Marie is currently completing digital residencies with Ukai Projects

and Virtual Grounds. 

Nawang Tsomo Kinkar is a Tibetan-Canadian artist and writer based in Toronto.

She holds a BA in Art History from the University of Toronto (2017) and has also completed photography courses at Ryerson University. As a first-generation immigrant with roots in Nepal, India and Tibet, migration is a theme that often plays a big role in her writing and photographic practice.

This interest in exploring relationships between personal and enviro-socio-political identities began after her first solo trip to Paris, and grew after an internship experience at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice. This fall, she will be pursuing graduate studies in Photography Preservation + Collections Management at Ryerson University.
